Obamacare Fails to Address the Real Issue

Obamacare is now inevitable after his re-election but unfortunately its failure to improve the health of Americans in any way is absolute. While the United States makes up 5% of the world’s population, it consumes over 50% of the world’s pharmaceutical drugs. We spend nearly 3 trillion dollars on health care annually. With those statistics, one would expect incredible health among its people yet the World Health Organization ranks The U.S. 42nd in life expectancy.

We have 23 million people with diabetes, 100 million with high cholesterol, and 11 million with cancer. Autism, allergies, asthma, and ADD ravage our children. This current system of medicine has done nothing to curb chronic disease. Our standard method of health care is broken and allowing free and easy access to a broken medical system does nothing to create true lasting health. It simply allows more people into the existing failed and misguided health care complex.

Do you really want free and easy access to this ruinous organization; This system with all its “scientific” research that has done nothing to curb chronic disease? No thank you. Allowing a diabetic (or anyone with a pre-existing condition) affordable insurance only confirms that they will be confronted with more of the same health care failures. It does nothing to cure or restore normal physiology.

Our emergency medicine is state of the art. No doubt about it. There’s no place I’d rather be than in an American E.R. if my life was hanging by a thread. But when it comes to chronic disease, our system is guided by special interest groups, greed (feel free to check out the Wilke vs. AMA lawsuit), and dogma entrenched in an outdated paradigm of reductionism (vs. the now more current paradigm of holism.)

Research suggests that 80% of our diseases and illness are attributed to lifestyle choices. (Health care costs for obesity alone range near $52 billion.) Inside the Affordable Care Act, where is the emphasis on prevention and life style choices? Medicine turns its back on the vital and essential role of nutrition, hydration, fresh air, exercise, and sunshine while promoting the use of dangerous synthetic chemical therapies. Where are the therapies to correct pH imbalance; So critical to health yet so ignored by medicine.  Where are the referrals from MDs to chiropractors whose treatment for back pain has been proven to be more cost effective? Where are the prescriptions for broccoli, carrots, and apples?

In a world where we can find real lemons used in furniture polish but lemonade is fabricated from synthetic chemicals, when we have been convinced that a headache is caused by a deficiency of Ibuprofen, and that loading up our children with mountains of sugar has nothing to do with ADD, what should we expect? When we fill our dinner plates with GMO products, Aspartame, high fructose corn syrup, hydrogenated fats, and secondary hormones and antibiotics, what should we expect?

Being guided by a group of people who do not understand basic physiology is not my idea of health care. We can give away free and easy access to every person in this country but it will not make us healthier. If you want real medical reform, learn how not to get sick in the first place and stay out of the doctor’s office.

My book, Mother Nature’s Healing Touch Therapies. The Remedy for an Ailing Health Care System, (available through Amazon and Kindle) can help you understand just how easy real lasting health can be.
